The Conclusion of the Lord’s Prayer
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
What does this mean? This means that I should be certain that these petitions are pleasing to our Father in heaven and are heard by Him; for He Himself has commanded us to pray in this way and has promised to hear us. Amen, amen means “yes, yes, it shall be so.” Martin Luther, The Small Catechism,
With the concluding doxology, The Lord’s Prayer is concluded. As you have perhaps seen, the prayer contains petitions for all matters of life, whether having to do with the life of faith or daily living. We can be certain God hears our prayers and answers according to his will, not our own, as is prayed in 3rd petition, “your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. But what if I do not know what to pray? St. Paul gives the answer: ”Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groaning too deep for words” (Romans 8:26 ESV).
https://bible.com/bible/59/rom.8.26.ESV We can approach God as Father with confidence that he will not only us as we pray but also respond as his will desires.
